Drowning the Light’s The Fading Rays of the Weeping Moon is a 2022 compilation on CD, gathering two sought-after chapters of the Australian project’s raw, atmospheric black metal alongside five bonus recordings.
The first half draws from 2009’s The Fading Rays of the Sun, where searing tremolo melodies, distant rasped vocals and spectral keyboards move between martial force and cold nocturnal atmosphere. The Weeping Moon material reaches into slower, longer-form melancholy, balancing mournful guitar work, organic drums and medieval shades with the project’s unmistakable vampyric darkness. Demo versions and brief instrumental pieces complete the collection.
Limited CD edition released on 24 November 2022 by Dark Adversary Productions, restricted to 333 copies.
