Drowning the Light’s Catacombs of Blood is a 2010 work of Australian black metal steeped in depressive melancholy and vampyric darkness.
Its imagery of plague, shadow, burial and autumnal mourning gives the record a bleak and funereal character. The atmosphere remains grim and desolate as the sequence descends towards its final requiem.
CD edition released in 2022 by Dark Adversary Productions. Originally released in 2010. Jewel-case CD reissue, issued 12 years after the initial 2010 CD release. Limited to 300 copies.
